Reservations for the 4th January 2024

Trying to book seat reservations on the 4th from Zurich to Grindelwald.
It keeps coming up with not available for any reservations from the 11th December 2023 onwards.
Does anyone know if they just havent been released yet?

Are you talking about booking tickets or reserving seats? In Switzerland, tickets do not come with a seat assignment, as there is free seating in Swiss trains. Seat reservations are possible, although rarely done, for IC trains only. On 10 December 2023 the annual timetable change will take place. However, tickets should be bookable even beyond that date. It is possible that seat reservations will not be possible for 2024, as there will be a new booking system introduced by the end of 2023.

Can you tell us the travel date, so we can verify?

I am after just the seat reservations as we purchased Eurail passes as we are visiting a few countries. We are travelling on the 4th of January 2024. Was wanting to book a seat researvation to secure a seat.

You can do that from 10 December, after the annual timetable change taking place for 2024 on 10 December 2023.

But as I said, you are not required to reserve a seat and seat reservations are anyway not possible for the train Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald.

SandersAus Be aware the the Eurail Pass is not valid till Grindelwald. Eurail however does give you 25% off on the Interlaken - Grindelwald part. The bad news is that you cannot buy tickets with Eurail reduction on line. You will have to go to the ticket office in Zurich prior to your departure. While there you can do your seat reservations as well, if you so wish.
