Train interrupted

Hi, I was on the train that was going from Basel SBB to Zurich Airport when an accident happened near Basel on 9/1/24 at 16 hrs aprox. We were on the train waiting 40 minutes until we had to go out the train because it wasn´t going to continue. ALl the trains were cancel and I had to get to a flight.
We didn´t have any information or choices to continue with our trips.
I had to take an Uber to get to Zurich Airport that cost 170 CHF.

Can I ask for any refund or compensation?

You may ask for a delay compensation, albeit an accident does usually not qualify as railway’s fault.

Please kindly note, SBB is obliged to take passengers to their destination (final destination on the ticket) on the same day – even if they have to change trains several times or take a diversion. However, The Swiss Federal Law on Public Transport contains no provisions with regard to compensation for missing flight connections.
