Hello Rehoileenn47
Nice to read that you will visit our country. I would say, September is the perfect month to visit our country
What I do not understand, why are you looking for tickets while the rail vouchers are included in the package tour? Does that mean, you will get vouchers but still have to organise the tickets yourself? What concept of group travel is this? Do they at least recommend the tickets to purchase? What is the tour operator’s name, are they serious?
Switzerland is a perfect country to visit on your own. You would be absolutely fine to travel alone, unless you want the company of fellow travellers.
It is difficult to give you advice, as we would have to know the itinerary and what you plan for each single day.
I would have said, the Swiss Travel Pass would be the best option if you travel around the country. It will not grant free travel for mountain excursions in the Jungfrau area yet a discount. The Swiss Travel Pass certainly offers the best value and is the most convenient. It is only available for 6, 8 or 15 days.
Depending on your travel plans, the Swiss Half Fare Card plus regular point-to-point tickets or Saver Day Passes could be a great alternative. For example, if you will visit Geneva, the city, it will probably not make sense to use a Swiss Travel Pass day for just the city transit.
As you will still have plenty of time to plan your trip, I advise you to do maths and to price out every single travel day by looking up the ticket cost on sbb-tickets.cc/en
Another question: does the tour operator suggest a travel pass? If they are serious, they should.
_As a side note: it is helpful if you choose a distinctive title in order for fellow SBB Community users to easily find similar topics to their question. If everyone gave their post a title like g’day, it would not be possible to find a topic at all. If you can still adjust the title, that would be awesome._
Kind regards,
Roland
