The Half Fare Card on SwissPass (for residents) cannot be purchased monthly based. You had to cancel it one month before expiry as it will be automatically renewed for another year at the discounted rate.
If you are a tourist, you can simply extend the Swiss Half Fare Card by another month (not available to people with a living address in Switzerland or Liechtenstein).
