Muecoiyee52 Hi good evening I bought Savers Day Pass for me and my family because we want to travel from Zurich to Lucerne, I already got the QR codes of the passes but my question is, do I have to make a reservation for the train or we just show up the day of the trip and sit whenever we want at the train? Hope you can help me Thank you
RolandP Hello Muecoiyee52 There is no seat reservation needed; in addition, seat reservations are not possible for SBB trains of category “IR”. In Zurich HB, get on board the train in sector C or D. The coaches in these sectors offer enough free seats. Kind regards, Roland
Muecoiyee52 Thank you so much for your answer, it was really helpful, I just have one last question, -I see the pass includes public transportation in Lucerne but does it include the cable car to Mount Pilatus as well? Kind Regards, Ernesto
RolandP Hello Muecoiyee52 Besides trains and boats, the Saver Day Pass is also valid for buses and trams in the Swiss cities. It does not cover mountain excursions, with some exceptions. So it does not cover Mt. Pilatus. It is valid for Mt. Pilatus or Mt. Stanserhorn, two mountains that are part of the aforementioned exception. Best regards, Roland
Thibcabe Pilatus is not included but Rigi is (boat + cogwheel train). There are settlements on the latter mountain so it is counted as “public” transportation. Same for Stanserhorn. Have a look at https://sbb-tickets.cc/en/tickets-offers/travelcards/area-validity-map.html (there’s a drop-down menu for Saver Day Passes)
