The easiest is to choose the IRE3 train, that runs from Basel Badischer Bahnhof (the German railway station in Basel) to Schaffhausen (then, Schaffhausen to Zürich).
I would not go further north, as the German railway connections aren’t that reliable, and you might end up in Germany with no onward connection. Furthermore, most train connections to Germany from Zürich run via Basel SBB.
Alternatively, you could travel from Strasbourg to Zürich via Schaffhausen with a change in Stuttgart.
