Restriction on ticket purchases

Hello!

I have been trying to buy a supersaver ticket since yesterday (around 5pm GMT -5) for a single journey but I’m unable to. I just tried again using my login and as a guest. When choosing either the supersaver ticket or saver day pass the following error is displayed and I can’t proceed with the purchase:

Restriction on ticket purchases.
Due to technical problems, it is currently not possible to purchase tickets. Please try again later.

If I choose the point to point ticket I can proceed with no errors.

Any known issues? Is there something else that I may not know when trying to buy a supersaver ticket?

Trying to purchase 5 tickets (2 adults, 2 children under 6 yrs, 1 children with junior travel card). From Lugano to Luzern via Bellinzona. Departure at 11:25 from Lugano. Arrival at 14:41 at Luzern.

There is no train at 11:25 that makes a useful connection to Lucerne. You could purchase a Saver Day Pass, for example by choosing the 12:02 connection or by purchasing the pass from the Saver Day Pass product website; the Saver Day Pass is valid on any train on that day (use at will of the entire public transport network).

Alternatively, there are Supersaver tickets available for the 13:02 connection. Note, the Supersaver is only valid on that specific train.

⟶ Avoid EC trains, better use IC trains.

Hi Roland,

I can find the 11:25am train when adding via Goschenen Bahnhof. I’m trying to purchase this one as my family already purchase a ticket for this time.

I was wondering if I could not proceed with the purchase due to the combination of supersaver ticket + the junior travel card that I’m interested for my child.

I see. When adding the Via, I can see this connection as well. And I was able to purchase the Supersaver ticket for this connection.

The Junior Card is valid with the Supersaver ticket. You do not have to add the children when purchasing tickets for yourself. Simply ignore the children, they do not need a point-to-point ticket which anyway results at CHF 0.00 cost.

No luck yet though the website on my desktop. Removed the 3 children. Just tried purchasing for myself and my husband. Got the same error as before.

I installed the app on my phone and through there looks like I can go to the next page. If I understand I need to have another SwissPass login for my child that will hold the junior card on my phone for the inspection of her card using my phone.

You can also purchase it using the SBB Mobile app. It makes sense to download it as you will use it as travel planner in Switzerland.

Concerning the Junior Card: there is no online version for tourists. The information you have read is for residents. You are welcome to get the Junior Card, but for tourists it is available from the station’s ticket office only, as it is a paper document. The cost is also CHF 30 and the card is valid for 1 year.
