Business zone incorrectly shown in services

I have the experience of trains (IC1 and IR15) that have a business zone listed in the train’s services. However, often they are not actually in the train, and indeed not listed in any of the wagons in the train’s composition.

Do you have a real example so we can check on our end?

Short-term changes to the rolling stock are always possible. Please check the train compositon for the actual service, it is up to date. The timetable information is rather static.
There are still quite a few coaches undergoing renovation and refurbishing, especially from the IC2000 fleet. This explains why certain coaches are missing in the daily operation.

What concerns IR trains, the business zone is only guaranteed on IC trains, normally.

Sure. Today’s (30.5.2024) IC1 leaving Geneva a 11h42 in the direction of Lausanne had no Business Zone. To be fair, there was an indication of changes in train’s composition, and in the train composition there was indeed no “BZ” indicated anywhere. However “BZ” was still listed as a service in the itinerary overview.

I checked the case and can confirm, IC1 train 719 did not have a business zone on 30.05.2024.

There are two versions of the Bombardier Twindexx trains: an IC version, and an IR version. They look almost identical yet the IR version offers less services, in favour of a higher seat capacity.

On 30.05.24, an IR version replaced the originally planned train. This led to the inconvenience that no restaurant car and no business zone was available.

From what I know, the itinerary details is not updated when it comes to short-term changes on the carriage; the train composition details are, however. So is the information panel on the platforms.

I have to check with SBB why the trip details are not reflecting the services actually offered. I must admit, as you said, it is contradictory.
