How to book Golden Pass Express with Berner Oberland Pass?

Part of the route of the Golden Pass Express is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass, meaning I need to do a reservation only. However, it doesn’t give me the option to do a “reservation only” on July 13th. Please help!

It appears a lot of people have had this issue, too. I don’t see any solution. I have to get charged 20 CHF/person, which is the same as no discount.

The Golden Pass Express is run by MOB, not SBB. Thus, our help here is very limited. The seat reservations have to be made with the operating railway companies:

I am able to book seat reservations only from Interlaken to Montreux on 13 July. In order to check your case, you would have to provide a little bit more information on your trip / itinerary.

RolandP Hi Roland, thank you for the response. I see how to make the seat reservations here, but the problem is that I’m trying to reserve my seat for the part of the journey that is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass.
Since it’s covered by the BO Pass, it should be free.
However, it’s still saying it’s CHF 20 per person–the same as if I were booking a full price ticket.
Does that make sense?

The Interlaken - Montreux Railway is included in your BO pass only as far as Saanen. Beyond that you need a ticket, which you can buy at a 50% discount. Easiest way to get that is to just go to a train station when you are here.
The reservation is separate from the ticket. The BO pass does not cover reservation charges, so that you pay regardless of what ticket or pass you use on the train. Reservations are not compulsory, however in summer they are probably a good idea. And yes, they cost 20,- pp

If I was only going as far as Saanen I would not bother with the GPX though. Just take any other train on the route.
