Luggage stolen frm SBB locker

Does anyone know what is the liability of SBB if the luggage is stolen from their storage locker in Zurich. We have filed a police report as well as lost luggage report and we are getting nowhere. Can someone please let us know of the next steps.

From what I know, SBB is not liable for any stolen items, provided the locker was functioning properly.
The terms of use for the lockers can be found inside the locker door. The service is based on the Obligationenrecht (Code of obligations), article 253.

RolandP Thank you so much. I have been looking to find their Terms. It’s beyond me how someone can offer a storage service without taking responsibility. Thanks for your response though appreciate it.

From what I know, from the legal perspective, renting a locker is like renting a flat. If a burglary happened, the landlord is not liable for any stolen items from your flat unless you can prove that the door couldn’t be locked because it was broken, and you informed the landlord, and the landlord did not take measures to repair it in due time.

It is probably best to contact your insurance to get advice.
