In a nutshell: a paper ticket cannot be converted into an e-ticket. You must use the paper ticket for travel, there is no other option.
Whatever comes, refrain from making paper copies or laminating the pass, this is all against the rules of use; it must be presented in its original form. Furthermore, do not lose it; a replacement is not possible.
All what you can do: Tell your outfitter, as you call them, to make a move, to finally arrive in the 21st century, and to issue e-tickets for future travels.
