Train from Venice to Lucerne

I am trying to buy a ticket from Venice to Lucerne however in discount drop down I don’t see option for Swiss pass. Without discount price is 188.
If I have SwissPass can I travel without buying tickets?

I agree with you, sometimes it is tricky to buy tickets at sbb.ch. For me it was easier to buy tickets at trainitalia.com.

When choosing Eurocity from Milano to Arth Golday you can choose option for Swiss Travel Pass, 13 Euro in 2nd class.
Your STP is valid for travel from Chiasso to Lucerne, but only when travelling in IC or IR trains, not in Eurocity.

If you need assistance you can your ticket at SBB or Trenitalia Travelcenter.

The reason why you can’t find SwissPass in the list of discount cards? There is no travel card that is named SwissPass. You probably mean Swiss Travel Pass. It is important to use the correct term; otherwise you are confusing the train staff.

When you hold a Swiss Travel Pass, and you want to book a through ticket from Milan to Switzerland, you can select the ‘GA Travel Card’ as a discount option. The GA is the resident’s equivalent of the Swiss Travel Pass.

Important: only GA or Swiss Travel Pass holders can actually claim the ‘GA Travel Card’ as a discount. Saver Day Passes, and other day passes do NOT entitle to book through tickets; when using a day pass, travellers must purchase a separate ticket from Milan to Chiasso, from where the day pass is valid for the travel in Switzerland; a seat reservation for the entire journey is not possible in this case.

That is incorrect. The STP is valid on all trains in Switzerland, so also on EC services between Chiasso and Luzern. No need for reservations.

To the OP: I would just book Venezia - Chiasso on Trenitalia. That way you can fully take advantage of offers like the 2 for 1 and family tickets. North of Chiasso you then just show your STP to the conductor.
