Time not shown on ticket

Hello, I purchased a ticket from Ost to Zurich Hb for Aug 20th and specified a time slot when I made the purchase. I looked at the e-ticket I was sent and did not see that specified time slot, I only see that its “valid” on 8/20th at 0:00 to 8/21st at 5pm (please see image I attached).

Does this mean the ticket is valid at literally any time between 8/20th at 0:00 and 8/21st at 5pm? If this is true, on the day of my visit I can simply look at the departing times on the SBB app (for this journey) and take the train at whichever time I choose using the same ticket?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don’t remember the specific time I chose. Thank you.

Yes, this is a regular ticket; it is good for 1 journey between the two destinations and within the given time frame. Intermediate stops, e.g. at Bern are allowed, yet no back-tracking.

Please note that we’re using the 24h time format over here, especially in timetables.
So 0:00 means midnight and 05:00 is 5am, NOT 5pm
In a nutshell, your ticket is valid all day on August 20th for the mentioned itinerary.

As this is a reduced fare ticket, we have to assume that this is not the only ticket (with missing departure times) you bought or are about to buy, right?

Ah I understand.

RolandP That is good to know. So does that mean I can take an intermediate stop between the 2 Destinations (ex Bern). Then use the same ticket to take a later scheduled train to the original final destination? Or is it more so I can stop at an intermediate stop if I wish, but that would be it and the ticket will be void?

RedBaron Yes that is correct I purchased 4 for my family and they have the same information.

JAngeles99 the way to think about this is thus:

You did not buy a ticket for a train even though you selected one during the purchase. You bought a ticket for a route. You are allowed to take any train on that route (even trains that look like they are operated by other companies), as long as you do not travel the route more than once. So you can interrupt and continue.

Krist Thanks for that clarification Kris. Is that usually how the tickets work in the Interlaken/jungfrau region? Tickets entitle you to a route instead of specific time?

JAngeles99 this is actually how most tickets work in all of Europe. Tickets are for a route. When I was young we even bought tickets to destinations right across Europe without even knowing the schedule.

It is only recently that train specific tickets have started to be offered.
