Leman Pass (272) Day Pass

Hi, I’m looking to purchase this pass. It says that the pass is valid for all public transportation services between Annecy and Geneve. May I know the followings:
1) can I use this pass for direct train from Annecy to Geneva? Such as, TER L2, Direction Geneve at 13:44 on August 11?
2) can I use this pass in Geneva for buses, such as going to Carouge?
3) can I use this pass on a boat cruise either in Annecy or Geneva?

1) Yes, but if you make only a single trip from Annecy to Geneva, it could be cheaper to buy two separate tickets:

— Annecy - Geneva CHF 19.20
— Day pass for Geneva Zone 10 CHF 10.00

If you return to Annecy on the same day, you can buy a Léman Pass Day Pass for CHF 38.30. You must also make the return trip with the train.

2) Yes, the passes with zone 10 include the tram or bus to Carouge.

3) For Annecy I don’t know, but I think that it is not possible. Please note that if you want use buses in Annecy, the Léman Pass should also include the zone 380.

In Geneva, you can use only the “Mouettes Genevoises”:

Thiengairrue73 I found that it unclear to buy such tickets on sbb.ch. You don’t see any difference between the prices. It is better to use the SBB Mobile app, you can choose if you want only the zone 10 (Geneva), only the zone 380 (Annecy) or both. Two examples, “one way” or “return” (return = day pass):

Danhiel Thanks. I’m on SBB Mobile app too but I don’t see the zone fare choices (I’ve seen it before but not these couple of days).

In any event, that is not what I’m concerned. Here is what I really want to know: I found that there are two types of day passes for Geneve - Annecy (Yes we want return tickets). One is for CHF38.30 which is all train rides. The other one is for CHF26.20 which is train + bus (B272).

Although the prices/travel means are different, both passes say that they are valid on all transportations and it doesn’t have limits on only the bus or train.

We’re interested in the CHF26.20 pass only because in the morning it has a good route for us. But, can we ride back to Geneva in the afternoon on a direct train with this pass as well? Here is the screenshot: (on the condition it says that it’s good for all transportation within the day)

Thiengairrue73 I don’t think that day passes can be use on both routes. You should buy a one way ticket for the bus in the morning, a one way ticket for the train in the afternoon and a day pass for Geneva Zone 10 to visit the city. But it is very complicated with these passes. It were better to ask at the SNCF ticket office in Annecy to have a confirmation. You don’t need to buy such tickets in advance. One way tickets have a limited period of validity, be sure to select the right train/bus.

Danhiel that can be an option. Do you know if there are staff working at Geneva station on a Sunday?

Thiengairrue73 Yes, the ticket office in Geneva is open on Sundays from 7 am to 8 pm. You have also an information point at the same location, but I don’t know if they can answer such questions.

4 – 11 August – Works Chêne-Bourg <> Annemasse
Due to infrastructure work, Léman Express services will be interrupted between Chêne-Bourg and Annemasse, in both directions, from Sunday, August 4 at 11:10 PM to Sunday, August 11 at 12:00 PM (with a gradual resumption of services).

When travelling before reopening of train services 11th of august you could buy a one way ticket via replacement services. An option could be to buy a day pass via tramway and bus an then ask leman Express customer services for suplement via train.

This probably why a direct bus connection is better in the morning, but the railway line will be reopened in the afternoon. I think that the online timetable is adapted and shows the best route.

The tram 17 doesn’t terminates at the railway station in Annemasse, you have to walk about 750 m. If the trains between Geneva and Annemasse are cancelled, train tickets are also accepted on the tram.
