Swisspass Card Abroad

Hi, I am from Spain and I am going to Switzerland next month to stay for a couple of months. When identifying myself to get Swisspass card (and to get my customer number) I had the address of where I will stay in Switzerland, not knowing the card would be sent there. I want to receive the card here, in Spain, before traveling to Switzerland.

I have not confirm my address yet, so I suppose the Swisspass card would not be sent yet. What should I do?

It is not necessary to obtain this card in advance, you can also buy it after your arrival at a ticket office. You will receive a temporary card for the first days of your stay.

But, if you want to buy a Half Fare Card, you can buy discounted tickets in advance, for example Supersaver Tickets or Saver Day Passes. The control if you have a valid Half Fare Card occurs only in the train when you travel, not when you buy tickets.

How do I know the card has been sent or not? After identifying myself I have not been notified of anything. Could I also get a temporary card after being sent a Swiss Pass card?

I would like to purchase the Half Care card. Could I get it with the temporary card I would get at the airport’s ticket office?

The most convenient way would be, if you travel to Switzerland and purchase the Half Fare Card at the SBB Travel Center. You will there get a temporary card that can be used together with your identity card for 10 days. Within that time frame the official SwissPass card is dispatched to your Swiss address.
