I just faced neglectence, inappropriate comments, and unfair treatment during my ticket check in the train.
The story is : I sit in the train in Zurich at 16.05 to go to Como. Immediately after departure ( 3-4 minutes, I find out that I started the Easy Ride with the 2 class, not with the first one )
I immediately came to the ticket inspector on my own, and explained him the situation. I said I would like to pay the upgrade until Zug.
He asked me where I’m travelling.
I said to Como. But I need the upgrade until Zug ( first station) because then on the station I can just switch it on in my easy ride app. For the right class.
He didn’t speak English, and was speaking Italian to me. I said I don’t understand and start using the google translate.
Then his college came, he pretended to speak English, but he didn’t understand me. They said I have to pay 24 franks or something. I said ok, fine for me.
Then they check the ticket and instead of giving me a payment asked me to sign something. I asked the explanation, what is this and what for I need to sign for. They just gave me the ticket and there were fine for 100 ! And left with no explanations!
!!!
The officer refused to tell me his full name ( he hadn’t got a name badge) and said he is a boss, and he decides and what he divides is right. that I need to know only that that his name is Mascara, like something that I use for eyes.
??? How and where I can report the inspector’s actions to their superiors, and ask for video evidence?
Such behavior should not go unpunished, as inspectors are required to adhere to ethical standards and treat those being inspected with respect.
