Where is the hotel for that 1st night after the inbound flight located?
Should this be Lucerne already, then you don’t have to worry about different arrival times, as the respective single journey point-to-point ticket is already valid the entire (calendar) day on any ZRH Airport - Lucerne Main Station train.
The “huge” price difference between a single(1h) and 24h ticket to Zurich City instead would roughly equal to one small beer in any airport in the world nowadays…
The Swiss Travel Pass CAN NOT be linked to the SBB Mobile app. It is a simple electronic ticket (basically a QR code), which you could forward as mail and/or pdf attachment.
(Reading “Important informations” and FAQs on the respective website pages is always advisable)
Saver Day Passes can ONLY be bought ahead and include all services/connections to permanently populated places (such as Grindelwald or Mürren), but NOT the mountain railways/cable cars above those villages (such as Kleine Scheidegg or further up).
However if you already have a Swiss Travel Pass, there’s absolutely no need for a Saver Day Pass in addition, because anything covered by the SDP is already covered by the STP! If you were thinking of “saving”/skipping a STP Flex day, note that STP related discounts on mountain rides or other admissions are NOT available on such skipped/intermediate days.
Also note that in Mürren, the cable car between Birg and Schilthorn is permanently closed this winter season, as it is being replaced right now. So careful with false promises…
