Point to point ticket

As point to point tickets are valid until 5a.m., is it possible to return for several times? For example, if I buy the point to point ticket from Zurich to Bern, and can I go from Zurich to Bern and come back to Zurich, again go to Bern and come back during it’s valid?

No, point-to-point tickets can be used only once in each direction. Intermediate stops are allowed, but no backtracking.

This is different from zone ticket within regional fare networks (such as ZVV or Libero), where unlimited travel back and forth is allowed within the listed zones during the ticket validity period.

If you buy a point-to-point ticket from Bern to Zurich you can use it once, to travel from Bern to Zurich, within the time of validity. If you buy a return point-to-point ticket you can travel once outward, and once return.

Sure, you’re right of course. But the original poster already implied a return ticket with his question, since he asked whether it could be used for returning several times (ZH -> BE for a 2nd time). 😉

RedBaron actually I have noticed that a lot of people do seem to think that a point to point one way ticket Bern to Zurich is actually a return ticket (because of the validity). Hence I tried to be more explicit here.

The concept of a ticket being for a route, and not a train is foreign to many people…
