From Monday, 25 November 2024, the Lucerne - Meiringen - Interlaken Ost line can be operated again by Zentralbahn trains. All restrictions have been lifted. This after a heavy storm in August 2024 followed by floodings and mud slides causing great damages to the railroad infrastructure. Engineers have been working hard to re-establish the line, to make it again accessible for train operations.
