Unable to load a payment method

I have purchased through this site before, but am unable to load a payment method. I tried two different cards, both times my bank authorised the test payment of 0.00CHF, yet the screen didn’t complete by adding the card. I then tried my husband’s on his account, same thing happened. Do you not allow people outside of Switzerland to buy tickets online anymore? Whilst I appreciate u can buy throughTrainline, I prefer not to as I like the point-to-point tickets as flexible. As we get into Montreux late, it is better to buy a ticket in advance. Please advise.

Everyone can buy tickets on our site, no matter which country you live in. It is important to check if your payment method is accepted, you will find the list here.

Does your credit card use «3-D Secure Code» as a security element? If so, a page will appear during the payment process requesting identification (password, SMS, fingerprint, Face ID or Transactions App). This will clearly identify you as the cardholder. This pop-up window is automatically blended in by your credit card company and is not governed by the SBB.

For further queries regarding payment using your credit card, please contact your credit card company.

Good morning, I have tried yet again to no avail, even set up another account in my husband’s name. I received the 3D authentication through my bank, I confirmed, and then the screen just sits there. I have also tried a pre-paid card, plus my other bank card.
My way forward is to ring direct and book on the pre-paid card as I don’t like giving my card details over the phone. This way, I personally feel safer as I can just have enough on there for the tickets.
I did Google it and was told that the SBB app may only be for train times now, not for people outside of Switzerland to purchase tickets. Please confirm this is not the case.

Finally, I have managed to add my bank card. I continued trying to add the same card
each time which was authorised by my bank. I also tried my husband’s card again. The only difference was that this time, I downloaded the app to my husband’s phone and miraculously it worked. I put it down to maybe a better Internet connection, I don’t know. Very odd, but at least I can confirm it is still possible to buy through the app when you live outside of Switzerland. I have now purchased tickets both ways and am looking forward to my Xmas break. Thank you 🙂
