Reserving a seat in the Panoramawagen on the EC8 (Basel to Hamburg)

I am trying to reserve a seat in the first class panoramawagen on the EC8 line from Basel to Hamburg. On the SBB website, I can select first class and reserve a seat, but I don’t see anywhere to put the car number. According to vagonweb, the panoramawagen is the 2nd car (for this part of the line) and I don’t want to mess up and end up in a different first class car. Is there a way to reserve in a specific car? Or is the panoramawagen the only first class car for this line? Thanks for any information you can give!

You can make reservations on bahn.de and select the seat (6,50 €). On oebb.at you can indicate they that you want a panoramic car, but not select a specific seat (3 €).

You must add “Mainz” as via to get the EC and not an ICE.

Please note that you can choose another free seat if available, you have no obligation to stay on the reserved seat.
