Hello Finbar123
if we decided to take an earlier or later train would our ticket still be valid ?( but we would obviously not have a seat reserved ? )
This is a frequent question concerning group bookings.
When you use group tickets, you are required to announce your travel at least 2 work days in advance. This to allow the train operators to plan their rolling stock in case of many groups wanting to take the same train. In return, you will benefit from a discount and from seat reservations on IC/IR trains during the day.
If you now decide to take another train than the ones you have reserved, you can if seats available. Just keep in mind that you lose your priority and the train staff can deny boarding if the train is already fully booked.
As a second question 🙂 if on the day of travel only 9 of us travel would this cause a problem ( we will have paid for 10 at the discounted price)
You will not get a refund for the person missing and will pay for 10 people.
Note: Keep in mind that booking group tickets online needs an SBB user account; create such if you do not have one.
Kind regards,
Roland
