Power outlets by the door?

I noticed that many S trains (e.g. S26 from Olten to Rotkreuz) do not have power outlets (sockets) next to the seats, but there are some power outlets next to the doors. Are these power outlets somehow special? Are passengers allowed to use them (e.g. to charge their phones)?

As Krist correctly says, they are for operational purposes and not intended to be used by passengers; therefore, they are hidden with a hinged cover. Service power outlets are not safe enough for devices such as smartphones or laptops and may damage your device. The use of them is your own responsibility.

Some of the older trains indeed do not have power sockets for the customers. Those sockets you see near the doors are for the cleaning crew to connect their vacuum cleaners to.
