Help! DB Trains - Munich to Interlaken - Travelling in 2 days

Hi. We booked tickets from Munich to Interlaken (booked via DB) and the ticket shows we transfer to IC 822 in Zurich.
But we can’t see that train on any schedule - and so we can’t reserve seats!?

I am travelling with my family so we have lots of luggage and two daughters so sitting together is important.

We can see the IC 81 is the same time / route - what is the difference?

Please help - we are travelling in 2 days.

The IC822 is the actual (unique) train (course) number while the IC81 is the line number. Every train on the Zurich to Interlaken route is called IC81.

Simply go with the train’s departure time and IC81. The train number is not published at departure boards.

The good thing to know is that you do not have a ticket for train 822, you have a ticket for “Munich to Interlaken”, which includes Zurich to Interlaken. So in Zurich just get on the train to Interlaken. At that time of the day you will not have an issue to find free seats, so there is no need to bother with reservations.
