Hello, Nice to meet you.
My wish is simple, “I want to get on the sleeping train July 7th night, from somewhere to Frankfurt”.
So I’m planning to use the sleeping train on“Zurich to Frankfurt”.
But I’m struggling.
I’ve been researching the whole last few days on the SBB web page.
When I search for a ticket with “Zurich to Frankfurt”, it shows a sitting train, “IC60402”.
When I search for a ticket with “Zurich to Amsterdam”, it shows a sleeping train, “NJ402”.
And both are departing at 21:34 from Zurich HB, Platform 17.
But it’s not allowed to buy “Zurich to Frankfurt”on“NJ402”.
I also referred to Train formations/compositions on “vagonWEB”.
According to information, “IC60402” and “NJ402” must be the same train.
Half part is “IC60402”, the other half is “NJ402”.
Here are questions,
[Q.1]
Why is it not allowed to buy “Zurich to Frankfurt”on“NJ402” ?
Is it too short a section for using a nightjet wagon?
[Q.2]
Let’s say, I accept to pay until Amsterdam and my ticket says “Zurich to Amsterdam”.
Can I get off at Frankfurt main station or Frankfurt Airport station?
Frankfurt main station or Frankfurt Airport station is not written as stops on the timetable of “NJ402”.
I’m worried about “nightjet wagon part doors won’t open”, “IC part and NJ part will be disconnected before Frankfurt” or “It’s violation of rules”
[Q.3]
Are there any options of sleeping trains from Austria side to Frankfurt.
I can depart from any city of Austria instead of Zurich.
Can you give me some hints to solve these questions?
Sincerely,
