"New nightjet" will kick me out?!

Hello,

Soon I will book a nightjet for July.
I decided to get on a nightjet(NJ402) from Zurich to Cologne(Köln).

But another concern has just occurred!

From the end of 2023, nightjet wagons are being replaced to new-generation type, route by route.
New-generation type’s beds and rooms configuration/number are different from the old one.
For example, 3bed+3beds Couchette seems to not exist in the new type.

Let’s say, I have a booking for 6month later.
What would happen on my booking if OBB would decide replacement just before my departure date?Due to differences in configuration/number of beds, some passenger bookings may be kicked out.

Now I’m in a dilemma between “Want to book earlier” and “I want to observe what will happen”.
Does anyone have ideas, hints, opinions or critics?

It doesn’t matter whether it’s old type or new type.
I can enjoy both.
I just worry the booking will be changed or not.

And also I’m so happy if I can hear from whom booking was affected in last 1year’s replacement with a similar situation.

If a change occurs, you will certainly be informed by mail about this and you will get a new bed number, but, the most actual problem with Nightjets is that sleeping/couchette cars are often out of order and are shortly replaced with normal cars. Unfortunately the new trains have also problems.

Currently no reservations are possible after July 7th, it means that you can reserve only 6 months in advance. I suppose that the introduction of new trains will also be planned 6 months in advance and that it is not a last minute change.

Discounted tickets are usually not exchangeable or refundable, you must observe the rules when you buy them.

In case of cancellations or delays, also when a sleeping/couchette car is not available, you can obtain a compensation or a refund, depending of the problem.

You will not be able to book seats for a NJ service until it is know what type of train will be used. S if they intend to replace the consist sometime in the summer you can expect reservations for that train to be only become possible once that replacement is confirmed.

I know, please don’t worry.
Even if it’s not an official answer, guesses and opinions by knowledgeable person is valuable for me.
(Btw, of course, I asked to nightjet(ÖBB) official support but they reply so slowly…)
