Ghaizoanou43 We are travelling from Zurich to Lauterbrunnen via Interlarken Ost on 8 July 2025 and have booked tickets, but when I scroll down, there is no ‘Seat reservation only’ showing in the choice of ticket.
RolandP Hello Ghaizoanou43 This question has been answered in our blog post about seat reservations. May I past the link to the blog? https://community.sbb-tickets.cc/blog/23887-demystifying-seat-reservations-on-swiss-trains-a-comprehensive-guide Get back to us should you have further questions. Kind regards. Roland
RedBaron Ghaizoanou43 Maybe to clarify that blog post further: Your train in question is a “R” (Regional) train, not an IC or EC, which means that the only reserved seat in there is located at the very front of the train… for the driver. So nobody else will have a reserved seat.
Ghaizoanou43 According to the timetable the train is an IC 81 and the timetable also shows the ‘R’ symbol!
RedBaron Ghaizoanou43 Yes the first leg until Interlaken, but after that it becomes a R62. Feel free to reserve seats in the IC81 and enjoy the unique and exclusive feeling of being the only passengers with reserved seats in the entire train.
