Hello,
I will be in Basel at the end of April and have been looking at making some rail journeys from Basel during my stay, in particular to Zurich and Bern.
I am seeing a message about disruption to travel due to maintenance works from 24th to 28th April.
"Limited train service between Basel SBB and Liestal are subject to restrictions.
This is due to construction work.
The restriction lasts from 24.04.2025, 22:15 until 28.04.2025, 05:00.
You have to expect changed timetables.
We recommend you to check your timetable online shortly before travelling.
The online timetable will be updated."
I appreciate the dates are some way off and it might be difficult to provide more detailed advance information but does this just mean that there will be fewer trains on those journeys but I should be able to travel and there won’t be bus replacements for example? Also, I was hoping to book some journeys in advance to save money and SBB is selling saver tickets now for journeys on the affected dates. As advance saver fares are non refundable what would happen if a train I had bought a saver ticket for was cancelled or rescheduled ? Should I just wait until nearer the time?
Thanks
Michael
