Price Display Half Fare Travel Card

I have a question about fare difference. I saw original cost on the first step for reservation from Zurich to Interlaken on 23. April. Price shows me 17 CHF but next step shows 31.8 CHF for reservation. What’s the difference between these two steps?

The tripl planner displays prices assuming that you have the Half Fare Card. It does this because most regular public transport users here have that card.

Near the top of the page displaying the search result there is a box that says “Price Display: Half Fare Travel Card”. Click that and change to full price to see the prices you pay without the HFC.

Note that you are not buying a reservation, but a ticket. A reservation is separate, not really needed, and always 5,-

The first price is usually a Supersaver Ticket 2nd class with a Half Fare Card. You will pay more if you don’t have this card, if you want to travel in 1st class or if you choose a point-to-point ticket valid in every train.

Please note that it is a ticket, no seat reservation is included.
