Traveling to Switzerland with my son

Hello. I will be in Switzerland for 1 week in July with my 15 year old son. My son will be travelling on the train on day trips sometimes with me and sometimes with his Aunty who as a Swiss Citizen holds a Swiss Pass Travel Card. I believe my son can travel with his Aunty for free but I will need to purchase a Junior Travel Card or a CoTravel Card to allow my son to travel for free with me. Could someone tell me if I have understood this correctly. Many thanks

No, that’s not the case.

You will need a Junior Travelcard for the travel with your son; it is available at the ticket office only as for tourists, the card is issued as a paper ticket.
The aunt needs a Children’s Co-Travelcard on the name of your son; she can purchase it at the ticket office as well in advance; your son does not have to be present for this.

Both cards cost CHF 30 each, valid for one year.
