Family Pass for 2 parents and 5 children

Hi!

We are coming to visit Switzerland soon from accross the pond. My wife and I have 5 children. I’m trying to buy the Swiss Family Pass. It appears that I need to buy a regular Swiss Pass First.

When I try to add in all our names to purchase, it is limiting me to 5 individuals. How can I buy these passes for a family of 7? Ages are 43, 42, 17, 15, 13, 11, and 8.

Welcome to the SBB Community.

You are talking about the Swiss Travel Pass.
The SwissPass is not the same, as it is for residents.

The ticketing system is by default limited to 5 passengers per transaction. To purchase 7 passes, simply split the purchase into 2 transactions:

1 adult plus 3 children
1 adult plus 2 children

Whenever you use the Swiss Travel Pass, you must carry all 7 physical passports.

RolandP This is great info! Thank you! This is good to know that we need to keep ALL 7 passports with us.

Once purchased with 2 separate transactions, can I load all the tickets together into the app?
Should I do both purchases as a “guest” or should both my wife and I make separate SBB accounts?
Does the Swiss Family Pass automatically get added to the purchased Swiss Travel Passes? Or do I need to do something further once the Swiss Travel Passes are purchased?

Really appreciate your help!
