As this question hasn’t been answered yet:
No, any ‘Swiss’ railway pass or travelcard is basically only valid within Switzerland, with a few exceptions such as Domododossola - Swiss border.
See details on the interactive validity map, making sure you select your correct travel card/pass in that box in the upper left corner of the map.
Note that you don’t need a valid half fare card for purchasing dicounted tickets, as this is never cross-checked during the purchase process. You only need the HFC while traveling with such discounted ’kid’s price’ tickets, as a proof that you’re entitled to do so as an adult.
