Is it possible to purchase online the half off fare (and free for kids) with your Swiss Half Far card? I ask because when trying to book the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Gornergrat Railway and Sunneggg, I’m finding I’m being asked for a Swisspass number and the purchase of the Swiss Half Fare card does not generate one. For acquisition type … Do I just select “Access your ticket through email or wallet?” If so, how is this validated. Also… do I need to purchase a ticket for my child since she was also issued a (free) Half Fare Card and will be traveling with us? Thank you.

For the child with the Swiss Family Card, you will need a free-of-charge ticket that allows them to pass the turnstile. Ask at the ticket window for it.

And, most importantly: do not purchase mountain excursion tickets in advance. No local would do that. You may come from a country with 365 days of sunshine, it is not the case for our country; storms are possible at any time of the year. Get all the tickets once you arrived at Zermatt.
