What option to choose for kids under 16s while buying tickets if you have a half fare card (family card) ?

Thanks, I’m trying to buy tickets from Zurich to Paris, I need to choose an option as the family card won’t cover the whole journey.

In this case, you must buy tickets in two transactions:

— Swiss tickets from Zurich to Basel with the Half Fare / Family Card
— French tickets from Basel to Paris without the the Half Fare / Family Card

Seats will be reserved from Basel but you can board the TGV in Zurich.

However, it is probably cheaper to buy tickets from Zurich to Paris without the Half Fare / Family Card if you choose discounted prices (semi flexible or non flexible tickets) and you take a direct TGV from Zurich to Paris.
