Saver Day Pass Refund

I had booked saver day pass for 11th June but due to ongoing strike in netherlands my train is cancelled from Amsterdam to Basel on 10th June. Is there any way I can get refund for these saver day pass?

No. The Saver Day Pass is not refundable.

Some of the ICE services from Amsterdam to Frankfurt will be operating on the 10th. Check www.nsinternational.com. You may take whatever train you please on the Amsterdam - Basel route on that day.

If you decide not to travel at all maybe your travel insurance will compensate.

I was planning to use eurail pass day on that that. How will that count if the train from Frankfurt is after 12 am?

As long as you stay on the train after midnight you do not need to start another travel day.

But if you start early enough in Amsterdam you should make it to Basel on the same day.

On eurail pass ICE are shown as reservation required and these are sold out on nsinternation. Can I still board these trains?

If you board a train without reservation you must pay a surcharge. However, I hope that the train crew will be comprenhensive due to the strike, unless the train is overloaded.

You have a ticket (in this case a pass) so you are entitled to travel. The ICE services from NL to Germany cannot “sell out”.

I am 100% certain that if there is a train going to Germany on the 10th that you will be permitted on it.

Try on oebb.at. I could reserve a seat from Amsterdam to Duisburg on the ICE leaving at 08:30.

Ignore that. This is just a way the railways are trying to trick people not to travel tomorrow. There is no such thing as a “sold out” train in Germany. You just get on the train, and when the conductor comes show your pass.

Thank you everyone for your help here. Was able to book ticket on obb. On ns international it was sold out.

With ticket you mean reservation, right? (As you have an Eurail Pass)
