RL2 Geneva to Annecy - best ticket

We are planning to take the direct train from Geneva to Annecy this summer.
Which is the best ticket to buy for a family of four? Are there any that give flexibility in which train to get or do we have to stick with the time we select? We are flying in in the morning, so it is hard to predict how long it will take to get to the station.

The other option would be the Bus 272 directly from the airport, again, can we take any bus on that route or only the time we have booked for?

It is not necessary to buy any ticket in advance. Wait to be at the airport and to know if you travel by bus or by train. A ticket office is available to assist you. Tickets have a limited period of validity and cannot be used earlier or later or on another route.

Does the bus get full during peak time (August) and would they prioritise people that already have a ticket?

I have never taken this bus. It is impossible to prioritize people that already have a ticket because everyone must have a valid ticket before boarding. Peak hours are probably late afternoon when people who work in Geneva are going home. The airport is the first station and the bus is empty. Most people board later in the city.
