You do not needto add your children to your tickets. You do need to get the free “Family Card” add on to the Half Fare Card if you have not obtained that yet. Normally you get that offered automatically if you add children to your Half Fare Card purchase, so probably you do have the Family Card. If you forgot that you can still have that done by going to a ticket office when you arrive.
With the Family Card your kids travel free, so you do not need tickets for them at all. When you are on the train you will show the tickets you bought for the adults, and the Family Card for the kids when the conductor comes.
