Municipal Saver Day Pass with Swiss Half Fare Card

I would like to clarify the conditions regarding the Municipal Saver Day Pass in combination with the Swiss Half Fare Travelcard.

I have found information in several places stating that the Swiss Half Fare Travelcard (for tourists) grants the same entitlements as the regular Half Fare Travelcard (for residents). Could you please confirm whether this equivalence also applies to Municipal Saver Day Passes sold through local municipalities? Specifically, I would like to know if visitors who purchase the Swiss Half Fare Travelcard can also buy Municipal Saver Day Passes at the reduced price offered to Half Fare Travelcard holders.

This information is important for my guests visiting Switzerland during the holidays, as they are considering purchasing the Swiss Half Fare Travelcard and would like to know if they can benefit from discounted municipal day passes.

Do you really mean the Municipal Saver Day Passes? Such passes are usually not available online, but only in person at city halls, and sometimes reserved for the residents of the city.

Or do you mean the Saver Day Passes?

Thank you for your response. Yes, I was referring to the Municipal Saver Day Passes—my municipality offers them, and we use them from time to time. I have also purchased them at the regular price for visiting guests in the past.

The upcoming stay of my guests will be quite long, and we plan to use various mountain railways as well. That’s why we believe that purchasing the Swiss Half Fare Card could help our visitors optimize their transport costs, especially if day passes can be bought at a reduced price.

Note that already having some valid half fare card is generally NOT a prerequisite for buying tickets in advance at half fare prices. A half fare card is only required when traveling, as a proof that the holder is entitled to travel with such ‘cheap’ discounted tickets.
Therefore, whether there’s a (valid) HFC will usually not be verified during the ticket purchase process, excepted in cases like cable car tickets sold on-site only at the station just before boarding.
The same should also apply to municipalities selling those municipal day passes, especially as those are available months in advance.

Please note that the Summer Trial GA Travelcard is only available to people who live in Switzerland or a neighbouring country.

I was checking Summer Trial GA, because it seems like a great offer, but like you mentioned, it will not work for tourists (here from Great Britain).
What about a standard 1-month GA Travel Card, can it be used by tourists?
Or only Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card can be used in such a case?

Yes, they could also purchase the GA Travel Card for 1 month, or the Swiss Travel Passes. The GA Trial is indeed not available for people from UK.
