Group reservation during the Lucerne Festival (august/september 2025)

For 3 (!) hours I have been trying to make a group booking from Zurich Flughafen to Luzern for a group of 13 people, but with no success ☹. We will be attending two concerts during the Luzern Festival in the KKL on 31 August and 1 September 2025. With the concert tickets they are entitled to a 40% discount on their return train ticket. But I am unable to book the train tickets with this discount as it only works if you have 1 festival ticket… How should I proceed?

I think that no group booking is available for this offer. The train staff must probably check that the name on the concert ticket matches the name on the train ticket and passport/ID card.

Please call SBB if you want to make a seat reservation for a group that already holds tickets.

In case of a flight delay, the seat reservation is no longer valid. And, not all connections may allow group reservations.

thanks - I called and found out that as I allready have the tickets, I will need to buy them at the ticket couter at the station. But still very strange, as it would work if we would return the next day and as we have tickets for 2 days we will of course stay a day longer…

It looks like you might just be to early to book this. You can always just buy this (reduced) ticket at the ticket office at the airport. Often dealing with a person is the solution…

It seems that the above link works only in German. With the first selected date you get a return ticket on the same day:

You can click on “Rückfahrt wählen” and select another date for the return trip, the price is the same:

Thank you, I will try that again… maybe it did not work because I added all the 13 names. Will try it per 4 persons…
