Hello! We have purchased the Swiss Travel Pass ticket for 15 days for my family of 4. This was a Second Class ticket. However, we booked 1st Class tickets on the Glacier Express without realizing our Swiss Travel Pass will only cover the ticket for a Second Class ride on the Glacier Express. There aren’t seats available in Second Class so now we are trying to find a solution. According to the Glacier Express company options, we can simply pay the difference between the classes and keep our reservations in 1st class, but this equals to around 140 USD extra per person, which is extremely costly for 4 people. I see the best option available to us is to purchase a 1 Day Class Upgrade for our Swiss Travel Pass, but when I try to do this I don’t see an option highlighting the Swiss Travel Pass. The requirements state a class upgrade is availabe for these types of travelcards: A (supersaver) ticket; A Day Pass for the Half Fare Travelcard, Saver Day Pass, Municipal Saver Day Pass, Special Day Pass; A GA Travelcard. I dont know if the Swiss Travel Pass is any of these. Additionally, when I attempt to purchase the single day upgrade, the only options listed under ‘Discount cards’ are Half Fare Travelcard, Junior Travelcard, or Children’s Co travelcard. Why isnt there an option for the Swiss Travel Pass, does this mean you are unable to purchase a single day upgrade with a Swiss Travel Pass.
