Extension tickets?

Dear All, Is there an option in SBB Mobile to purchase an extension ticket when I already have a valid ticket for a portion of the journey?
Example:

I have first class ticket from Zurich HB to Zug.
I need a 2nd class ticket from Winterthur to Zurich HB.

My existing first class ticket obviously covers part of the journey between HB and Winterthur. How can I purchase the additional ticket without duplicating my payment by double covering certain zones?

I saw there an “extension ticket” option in the app, however it always wants to charge me additional amount even if I know that I have valid tickets for the zones included.
Am I missing something here? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Coming from Zug, you can purchase a ZVV extension ticket for the missing ZVV zones from Zurich Oerlikon to Winterthur and combine it with your existing Z-Pass ticket that covers Zug to Zurich. See tab ‘Shop’ for the extension tickets.

If you hold a ZVV Ticket Winterthur to Zurich, however, you must purchase another Z-Pass Ticket as there are no extension tickets for Z-Pass. And, you cannot prevent purchasing certain zones twice.

I’m not sure if I can find the referred section in the app, where I can purchase the tickets for the additional zones.
I was wondering if there is a function in the app which can identify, based on my already existing ticket, what additional tickets, zones I need to purchase. Overall I think I find this zone structure a bit confusing and to me it’s difficult to navigate with it😅
