Just needed to vent a little.
We planned our whole trip around the Glacier Express schedule and booked first class accordingly. We even bought a 15-day Swiss Travel Pass in first class specifically so we could enjoy the Glacier Express in comfort. But today, we were told our first-class reservation was downgraded to second class due to a technical issue.
SBB offered either a refund of the fare difference or a free cancellation, but neither option really works for us — canceling isn’t feasible since the rest of the trip is already set and paid for, and the fare difference hardly matters. What we really wanted was the comfort of single seats for the 8-hour ride — and that’s now lost.
