Dear SBB Community,

From 15 September 2025, you will be able to load single tickets directly to your SwissPass at SBB ticket machines. Customers have wanted to be able to load to their SwissPass for a long time, now we are introducing this option.

You can now select whether you would rather have the ticket in paper form or load it to your SwissPass before paying at the ticket machine.
To load the ticket to your SwissPass, hold the physical SwissPass or SwissPass Mobile in front of the scanner below the screen on the ticket machine. The ticket is then loaded both to your physical SwissPass and to SwissPass Mobile, and for ticket inspection you can either show your physical SwissPass or SwissPass Mobile.

A major advantage of this is that during ticket inspection you now only have to show your SwissPass (or SwissPass Mobile). You don’t need to additionally show a paper ticket, online ticket or mobile ticket.

Good day ,My client will be arriving Zurich on the 16th Nov from Johannesburg and will like to purchase an all-day Swiss pass on the 16th Nov to be able to travel on all types of public transport for that day, please advise which ticket she must purchase as there different kinds , please also advise if she will need to purchase a travel card in addition to be able to use the pass ? lastly does she have an option of buying the pass when she arrives in Zurich as well?

She can buy the Saver Day Pass online or on the SBB mobile app. To obtain it, no subscription is necessary: it is available to everyone. However, it is only available online or on mobile, and the price changes based on the purchase date: the earlier you buy, the more you save, and as it is a special offer, refunds are not allowed. If your client is staying for several days in Switzerland and during her stay will use public transport, I suggest taking a look at the offers for tourists, especially the Swiss Travel Pass, which is a package of day passes for multiple days.
