Best way to go and cost effective

My wife and I are visiting in May of 2026. Flying into Zurich and spending the night. We need to get to Lauterbrunnen and that will be our base for a few days. Any suggestions on what ticket to get for daily trips that will include Brienz, Grindelwald, Lucerne, Maybe Zermatt. Any help will be much appreciated. Respectfully, Kevin M

Firstly, welcome and good day.

Look at Saver Day Passes or at the Berner Oberland Pass.
The Swiss Half Fare Card could be a possible add-on that saves you money in addition.
I wondered why you will spend the nicht in Zurich while there are direct connections to Interlaken from ZRH.

Assuming you will do the (expensive) Jungfraujoch trip anyway, I’d say

rather Berner Oberland Pass is skipping Zermatt
rather Swiss Half Fare Card + regular tickets/day passes if doing Zermatt including local (also expensive) mountain rides there

Both BOP and SHFC grant you 50% on Jungfraujoch tickets, but you can’t combine both for a free ride.

Also, never ever buy (note that I explicitly wrote ‘buy’, not ‘book’) specific tickets for mountain excursions far in advance - only once you’re actually there and know for sure how the weather/visibility will be up there. Tickets generally do never ‘sell out’ and still cost the same 5 minutes before boarding.

I fly into Zurich and the Mrs. Wants to see the sights and sounds and of course chill out before we go to Grindelwald for a few days then off to Lauterbrunnen and take day trips from Lauterbrunnen. It is the first time to you beautiful country. Cheers, Kevin I

Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are rather close to each other, so there is not really a point to stay in both. Grindelwald has more to offer, but you could also consider Wengen, which has its own unique atmosphere because it has little traffic. In fact, every time I come down to Lauterbrunnen I think the same thing: This place could be so much nicer if we got rid of the cars…
