Forgotten FIP card

I have a FIP card - Ferrovie dello Stato Italiano, but I forgot it in Italy. Is it possible to book a half-fare ticket if I only have a picture of my card (with my CID and ID)? Should I go to the SBB local office? I need to travel from St. Gallen to Chiasso.

No, without the physical card, there is no discount. A picture does not allow the verification of the authenticity of the card.

Since this is going to be my first time traveling in Switzerland by using the FIP card, can I buy a ‘half-fare ticket’ from the SBB online portal and then show the FIP card to the ticket controller on the train? Of course, I’ll do it as soon as I have the physical card in my hands!

Holding the FIP, you can purchase reduced point-to-point-tickets (single or single and return) only, no day passes.
