Can I cancel a year modular pass?

I have to travel for the next six months from the city where I live to a nearby city and I need a train pass. Since it might be I will need to travel also after these 6 months for another 6 months, I was wondering if I can buy a year travel pass and, in case I do not need to travel anymore after the first 6 months, cancel it and get back the money for the remaining months I will not use it. If you wish to cancel your Modular Travelcard within the period of validity and hand it in, you can obtain a refund from any staffed public transport point of sale or by phoning the SBB Contact Center on 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.) or if you are calling from abroad on +41 51 225 78 56. The refund amount is calculated as a percentage based on the number of unused days. A deductible is also charged.
