Dear SBB Community,
The first train type can now be booked via the graphical reservation function (seats & bike spaces) on SBB.ch.
The first line will be Giruno trains on the IC2/IC21 lines.
The advantages at a glance:
- Free choice of seats*
- Booking across coaches*
- Cross-class booking (2nd and 1st class)*
- Choice of zone (business zone, quiet zone, family coach etc.)
- Seat preference selection (window, aisle)
- Preferences selection of bicycle space (incl. bicycle hooks height)
- Detection & selection of direction of travel (direction of travel displayed without guarantee of correctness)
*Not all coach spaces are available for reservation
This is the first train type with graphical seat and bike space reservations. The plan is to gradually expand graphical seat reservations to other SBB trains, tourist connections and international journeys to France, Italy and Germany over the course of 2026.
