the Glacier Express with a second class 3-day consecutive Swiss Travel Pass

I’m planning to travel to Switzerland to ride the Glacier Express. From the information I’ve received, I understand that even with a second-class Swiss Travel Pass, I can ride the Glacier Express in first class if I upgrade for one day.

I bought a one-day upgrade and it said this:

Valid for Day Pass plus Half Fare Travelcard, (Municipal) Saver Day Pass plus Half Fare
Travelcard, GA Travelcard or Swiss Travel Pass (Flex).

I have a Swiss Travel Pass for three consecutive days, so I don’t think it’s a flex pass. Will I be able to ride the Glacier Express like this? Can someone give me some advice?

No problem. Notice how it says Swiss Travel Pass (Flex), That is just being economical with words, and that covers both the continuous and flex travel passes.

So you are fine.

The information from Krist is not fully true, as the Glacier Express is an exception to most trains.
In order to ride the Glacier Express, you need

A ticket in the respective class for the journey covered
A mandatory seat reservation (which also costs) for the time, day and class you are travelling in

You only have as of now a ticket for the 2nd class. You can either travel in the 2nd Class of the Glacier Express, then you only need a seat reservation or you can travel in the 1st class of the Glacier exress, in which case you will need a class upgrade (avaliable both as daypass and point-to-point upgrade) and a seat reservation for the 1st class.

Edit: I only after sending noticed that with the upgrade, you as of now already have the equivalent of a 1st class ticket. You then only need to still buy the seat reservation.

Thank you for your reply. I have already reserved a first-class seat, so all that’s left is to board the train. Just to be sure, will a one-day upgrade for 50 CHF be sufficient? Other answers say that you can only upgrade at the station, so I’m not sure if the upgrade I bought online is sufficient.

I would assume that is the correct ticket, as a daypass-upgrade costs 50.- (It should say Tagesklassenwechsel on your ticket?). This daypass is also valid on the Glacier Express.
