Taking earlier connection with supersaver

I often take a train commute that requires changing in one station, with a change of only a few minutes. The change is tight, so it’s usually not shown in the SBB app, but in practice I can take the connection 90% of the time.

As a result when I want to buy supersaver, they only offer a longer version which makes me wait 20 minutes at the station. If I buy supersaver and happen to be able to catch the same train 15 minutes earlier in my connection (same first leg but different second leg), would that be allowed?

I assume the answer is no, but that’s unfortunate because it makes the supersaver ticket often not viable where I live 😢

The main one I’m referring to is in Zurich HB when coming from the Uetliberg train line (or in the other direction). Because it’s in a separate part of HB, the app budgets extra time for the change vs what’s needed.

Occasionally, I’ve had the same problem in two other stations:
1) In Lausanne, when coming from Zurich and changing towards Vevey. There is often an earlier train available (though with recent change of schedule I’m not sure this exists still)
2) In Vevey, when coming from Blonay and changing towards Lausanne/Geneva. Today, for example, I had to wait for 15 minutes, while I could have boarded the earlier train if I didn’t buy supersaver

This is not possible.

You have to decide what you value more: flexibility or inexpensive travel cost.

You could well purchase a supersaver from Zurich HB as within ZVV, there is no cost saving with the supersaver anyway.
