I will be traveling soon through Switzerland using an Interrail ticket. In my preferred connection, I have to use a Eurocity train just on the Brig-Domodossola section (then in Domodossola changing to an Italian regional train). I know that in this international tract the Swiss fare conditions apply, thus the seat reservation is an optional, not a mandatory as on the connections from Domodossola on to Milano through Eurocity trains. However, the interrail system (trip planner) insists that there’s a mandatory seat reservation (€15) for that Brig-Domodossola section, even if they are unable to sell the reservation. I’m afraid this mandatory seat reservation is an error on their system, am I right? Can anyone confirm?
